Trustees help ensure that the Scout Group is well run, sustainable and able to provide great opportunities for young people. You don’t need to attend weekly meetings – this role focuses on oversight, planning and supporting the leadership of the group.
Governance and Oversight
The Board of Trustees helps ensure the group operates effectively and responsibly.
This may include:
- ⁃ Overseeing the finances of the group
- ⁃ Helping ensure the group operates safely and legally
- ⁃ Supporting the long-term strategy and development of the group.
Supporting the Scout Group
Trustees also support the group by overseeing:
- ⁃ Maintenance and development of facilities and equipment
- ⁃ Major projects and improvements
- ⁃ Ensuring the group remains sustainable for the future.
Trustees work alongside the Group Leadership Team to help ensure the group continues to grow and thrive.
