This team helps organise adventurous activities and group events across all sections. You don’t need to attend weekly meetings – this role focuses on planning, organising and supporting events. No previous Scouting experience needed.
Adventurous Activities
In the long term, we hope members of the team will gain activity permits, allowing the group to run activities such as:
- Archery
- Climbing
- Hill walking
- Kayaking and canoeing
- Paddle boarding
- Sailing
- Cycling
- Zip wire
- Shooting and axe throwing
While this is an ambitious long-term goal, the team will initially support sections by:
- Finding instructors through District or County teams
- Working with external activity providers
Group Events
The team will also help organise group-wide events and camps, helping bring the whole group together.
Possible events could include:
- WMSG Olympics Day
- Winter Hike
- Summer BBQ at Huish Woods
- Group Summer Camp
These events help build a stronger group identity and provide exciting opportunities for young people.
This role is ideal for people who enjoy organising activities and events but may not be able to commit to weekly meetings
