This team helps ensure the group’s facilities and equipment are well maintained and ready to support activities for young people. You don’t need to attend weekly meetings – this team focuses on maintaining equipment, supporting camps and helping look after our site. No previous Scouting experience needed.
Quartermasters
The team includes several Quartermaster roles, responsible for managing key equipment areas:
- Catering equipment – cooking equipment and kitchen supplies for camps and events
- Tents and camping gear – tents, ground sheets and camping equipment
- Activity equipment – games, activity gear and shared programme equipment.
Quartermasters help ensure equipment is organised, maintained and available when sections need it
The team will also help advise the Group Trustees on the future development of equipment and facilities, including identifying equipment that needs replacing and recommending new equipment to support activities
Campsite Maintenance
The team also helps maintain our facilities and campsite areas.
This may include:
- Basic maintenance tasks
- Organising working parties
- Checking equipment safety
- Helping prepare the site for camps and events.
Looking after our facilities helps ensure that activities can take place safely and successfully.
